Coalition for Sign Language Equity in Technology
CoSET is pending incorporation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We bring together technologists, interpreters, Deaf community advocates, researchers, educators, and language access advocates from all communities to build practical accountability for automated interpreting.
Our work focuses on identifying breakdowns and their remedies in interpreted communication in order to inform industry, organizations, and governments on best S.A.F.E. practices in design, deployment, policies and procedures. Our work promotes responsible deployment, supports managers and policymakers in language access decisions, and will lead to clear standards that protect primary communicators.
